My name is Matt.  I am a 28 year old Fayetteville native.  I wanted to write a note to you, because of something that happened today.  My parents who have lived in Fayetteville for the majority of their lives were having a yard sale.  In this yard sale they were selling several old used street signs that they purchased legally at Ozark steel.

Yesterday a police officer came by because one of their customers had called to report that they thought my parents had stolen these signs and were selling them.  My mother explained to the officer that they were purchased and he thanked them and left.

Today the same officer came by and said that Mayor Coody, having driving by, had seen these signs and wanted the officer to end the selling.  The officer says he explained to Dan Coody that they were purchased at Ozark steel, who buys them from the city after they are discarded.  Dan Coody said he did not care and that he wanted the officer down there anyway.

It seems to me that being the Mayor of a city should enable you to be aware of the fact that these signs are being sold by the city, and it seems that it would make a person more likely to stop and see what is going on before they send the police after a couple in their mid to late 60's one of which is still on disability, accusing them of theft.

This action angered me more than I can express.  I immediately, after hearing of this, began looking online for any type of antiCoody action.  Your list only re-enforces my belief that Coody should no longer be allowed to use the office to benefit himself first and his city second, if not last.
